Our Commitment to Open Access
G.A.R.B.A.G.E. is a fully open access journal. We believe that scientific knowledge should be freely available to everyone, without barriers to access or reuse.
What is Open Access?
Open access means that all articles published in G.A.R.B.A.G.E. are immediately and permanently available online, free of charge to anyone, anywhere in the world. Users can read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles without any financial, legal, or technical barriers.
Licensing
All articles published in G.A.R.B.A.G.E. are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
This license allows:
- Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
- Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially
Under the following terms:
- Attribution: You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made
- No additional restrictions: You may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits
Article Processing Charges
To support our open access model, G.A.R.B.A.G.E. charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) for accepted manuscripts:
Standard APC: $500 USD
Waivers available for authors from low-income countries
The APC covers:
- Editorial management and peer review coordination
- Professional copyediting and typesetting
- Online hosting and permanent archiving
- Indexing and discovery services
Self-Archiving Policy
Authors are encouraged to self-archive their work:
- Preprints may be posted on any preprint server
- Accepted manuscripts may be posted in institutional repositories
- Published versions may be shared according to the CC BY license
